About the original painting: The size of the original painting is 11 x 14 inches, acrylic on board. Date painted: June, 2002. Exhibited at the Addison Gallery, Orleans, Massachusetts in August, 2002, the original painting is now in a private collection.

I call this a "bike" picture. Getting around Provincetown in a car is impossible during the warm weather months so I have a bike, complete with a rack for my easel, canvas, umbrella, etc. While pedaling around town one morning I took a left on Cottage Street, spotted my motif and spent 3 hours in the clean Cape Cod air doing what painters have been doing in Provincetown for over a century. The painting came out surprisingly well, unlike the overworked picture I did later that afternoon.
