The Art of Charles Sovek

Exhibit Archive | "Paris Revisited"

Exhibit overview: "Paris Revisited" - Streetscapes are a genre that I embraced way back in the 1960's. I was living in New York City then and after a good number of failed attempts I saw a show at the old Biltmore Galleries. The artist was Peter Hayward and his paintings were location works done all around the city. I was hooked. And will forever be in debt to Peter Hayward, whom I eventually corresponded with and told him of his influence. Over 40 years have passed and I continue to enjoy the challenge of streetscapes be they in New York, San Francisco, the Bahamas or Paris.
